### Overview

HomeProjectPro.AI offers optional AI-powered features that use Anthropic, Inc.'s Claude AI API to provide intelligent recommendations. Your explicit consent is required before any data is sent to Anthropic.

### What Data We Share with Anthropic

When you choose to enable and use AI features, we send the following information to Anthropic:

- Material Names and Specifications: Names and details of materials you enter (e.g., "wood screws 2 inch")

- Project Descriptions: Text descriptions of DIY projects you want to create

- Project Step Titles: Titles of project steps when you request explanations

- Experience Level: Your selected skill level (beginner, intermediate, expert)

### What We DO NOT Share with Anthropic

We never send the following to Anthropic or any third party:

- Your name, email address, or any personal contact information

- Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data

- Photos or images you attach to projects

- Your complete inventory or project lists

- Payment information or subscription details

- Your phone contacts, calendar events, or other device data

### How Anthropic Uses Your Data

According to Anthropic's Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement:

- No Long-Term Storage: Anthropic does not store your data beyond the time needed to process your request

- No Training Use: Your data is NOT used to train Anthropic's AI models

- No Sharing: Anthropic does not share your data with other third parties

### Consent Requirements

Before any data is sent to Anthropic, you will see a consent prompt that:

You must explicitly click "Accept" before AI features work. Clicking "Decline" will not affect any other app features.

### Your Control Over AI Features

You have complete control over AI data sharing:

- Enable/Disable Anytime: Go to Settings → AI Features to toggle AI data sharing on or off

- Per-Feature Consent: You can choose to use or skip AI features on a case-by-case basis

- Fully Optional: The entire app works without enabling AI features

- Immediate Effect: When you disable AI features, no more data is sent to Anthropic

### Revoking Consent

To stop sharing data with Anthropic:

1. Open the app and go to Settings

2. Find the AI Features section

3. Toggle "AI Data Sharing" to OFF

4. No data will be sent to Anthropic from that point forward

You can re-enable AI features at any time by toggling the setting back on.

### Data Retention by Anthropic

- During Processing: Data is held temporarily while Anthropic generates AI responses (typically 1-5 seconds)

- After Processing: Data is deleted from Anthropic's systems

- No Permanent Storage: Anthropic does not store your data in any database or use it for future purposes

### AI Feature Details

The following features send data to Anthropic (only if you've consented):

1. Project Generation: Sends your project description and experience level

2. Material Enhancement: Sends material names and specifications

3. Step Explanations: Sends step titles and project context

All other app features work entirely locally on your device.

All user-generated content is stored LOCALLY on your device using AsyncStorage:

### Cloud Storage (Future Feature)

- Cloud sync planned for Pro/Premium users in v1.2
